Prayers and Squares This ministry combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt, providing tangible evidence of the many prayers lifted up in it's recipients behalf by the members of BFC. Our team sews the quilt, and we then invite people in our church family to tie a knot and say a prayer for the person receiving the gift of the quilt. This ministry combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt. A ministry of encouragement and caring, it provides tangible evidence of the many prayers lifted up in it's recipients behalf by the members of BFC. A ministry of encouragement and caring, it has been in existence at Birmingham It is exciting to share with you that Birmingham First Church has previously presented many quilts and/or Prayer Squares, each a gift of love, to many who were experiencing a time of difficulty. The quilts have been made for cancer patients, for adults and children facing surgery or involved in accidents, or facing personal crisis; for many reasons, but each for someone in special need of prayer. You don't have to have any quilting or sewing experience to be a part of our ministry just a willing heart and willing hands. We meet once a month on Sunday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Check our Calendar for exact dates. -- Charlotte Dyer, Ministry Leader For more information contact Charlotte Dyer at (205) 678-9483 “Your ministry has blessed us tremendously & has been a witness to so many people. Thank you for your beautiful gift and prayers. They have meant so much to us. Thank you!" Robert & Denise Moore "The prayer blanket that I received from 1st Church means SO much to me! That prayers were said as each knot was tied reminds me that so many people have lifted me up in prayer. Though I am not a member at BFC, the fact that you reached out to me during my illness and took the time and effort to make such a beautiful quilt is very touching. I'm reminded of your love and prayers every time I use my quilt. Thank you again the love you've shown me through this special gift." Jackie Rogers, Auburn, AL
