Pastor Steve Severance has dedicated his life to guiding people into a joyful saving relationship with Jesus Christ. His ministry objective is to connect people with God and with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, winning souls through creating a culture of evangelism in the church and emphasizing family ministry, prayer, and gospel-centered preaching.

Steve began ministry as a teenager when he helped to plant the East Mountain Seventh-day Adventist church in Edgewood, New Mexico. At the same time he worked as production manager, studio engineer, and announcer as KSVA, a Christian radio station in Albuquerque. He thought God was leading him into a career in radio but God had other plans.

After attending a mission college in South Dakota, Steve was called to be a Bible worker in Wichita, Kansas, and soon was called to pastor the Valentine District, in North-central Nebraska (Valentine and Springview churches). He formally began pastoral ministry in 2003. He later moved to the Beatrice Nebraska district (Beatrice, Fairbury, and Falls City churches).  With much prayer He and his wife decided to leave Nebraska and move to Texas to pursue further education from Southwestern Adventist University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

He now serves as the pastor of the Birmingham 1st Seventh-day Adventist Church, in Birmingham/Hoover, Alabama.  Steve married Heather in 2005. She has a passion for music and is a full-time mom and pastor's wife.   Contact Pastor Severance
